HISTORY
1897
The origins of this family company go back to the old ceramics factories in Onda (Castellon) at the end of the 19th century. The town had a great ceramics tradition with a large number of artistic ceramic craft workshops and industrial ceramics factories. 1948
The brothers Gaya Guinot established the company FRANCISCO GAYA FORES and founded the El Sol factory in 1940, where the manufacture of tiles began. This company was renamed as Hijos de Francisco Gaya Fores, S.L. in 1948, which is the current company name.

1976
Inauguration of new and modern facilities for the industrial manufacture of cladding, specializing in traditional-style products for baseboards, corridors, hallways ... and decorative pieces of red body.

1982
A new product line was introduced: paving. The new facilities and the latest technological advances (new gas roller ovens, etc.) enabled manufacturing expansion from double fired cladding to single fired stoneware paving.

1993
The 90's was a great leap in the company's product portfolio thanks to its entrepreneurial character, capacity for innovation, vast experience and professionalism and constant investment in infrastructure. Installations are expanded with new OFFICES AND EXPEDITION WAREHOUSE.

1995
The company acquires new land up to 160,000 m2 and builds a new industrial site, Factory 2, with the most modern offices, a robotized warehouse for loads and a manufacturing plant equipped with the latest technology for the manufacture of a new product line: flooring.

1998
Because of the potential of the new factory, it was decided to expand the product range to include white clay cladding. This completed and strengthened the productive and commercial structure to increase the company's presence in overseas markets.

2000
Commitment and human effect as an inherent part of the Quality Policy were key for planning the company corporate strategy, which was rewarded with ISO 9001 certification.

2004
Technological advances have been incorporated at the forefront of all the company's processes. Thus, in 2004, the SAP Information Technology System was implemented as the company's ERP.

2007
The latest inclusion in the product range was coloured porcelain clays, a result of our daily effort to offer new solutions and decorative possibilities to meet the needs of the market.

2010
NEW INJECTION TECHNOLOGY. Start-up of the first injection machine with pentachromy, application of digital effects, non-contact decoration, relief decoration, personalisation of the design, optimisation of colour management and preparation of glazes... The company incorporates all the advantages of the new technology, which represents a new turning point in the ceramic sector.

2013
Gayafores obtains the Global EPD (Integral Product Declaration) certified by AENOR to which it adds the Integrated Environmental Authorization. This certification ensures the correct treatment of waste, from the acquisition of the raw material, through production to the sale and distribution of the final product.

2014
After constant evolution and new export sales records, the Chamber of Commerce granted the Exports Award. Gayfores has increased and consolidated its presence in various countries, driven by a concern for export that has led us to maintain relationships with over 110 countries on 5 continents.

2015
INNOVATIVE SME Award. The Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness granted us the seal as an Innovative SME for the use of the latest digital printing technology machinery and the technological drive that we have introduced into our manufacturing processes in recent years that have led us to produce increasingly sophisticated products of higher quality, in terms of both materials, and textures and colours.

2016
Consolidation and special growth in social networks. To the official profiles on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest we add LinkedIn and Instagram, with the aim of bringing our news to the public, offering inspiration to decorate any space, inform about interior design trends... 2017
We're celebrating our 120th anniversary. Ceramic tradition together with technological vanguard form an indissoluble tandem that allows us to create products of reference in the sector.
2017 is also a year of heavy investment in factories and advanced robotization processes with the aim of becoming an INDUSTRY 4.0.

2018
We opened our new showroom at the company's headquarters. This exhibition space has been designed to provide our clients with a complete GAYAFORES experience.Gayafores complete.

2019
We have been manufacturing porcelain tile for two decades, a type of product in which we have consolidated our position as specialists, constituting today almost all of our production

2020
The international career of Gayafores is recognized by the Chamber of Commerce with the Export Award. This award encourages the company to continue contributing to spreading the quality brand of ceramics made in Spain
